Tom, a technologist and information professional by trade, lives in Santa Monica with his wife Blair. He’s lived in the Ocean Park neighborhood since 2006 and tries to watch the #sunset every day.
Tom graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Morehead-Cain Scholar and later completed graduate studies in information and library science. More recently, Tom has led global data, analytics and research teams for nearly 15 years. Tom’s specialization in analytics and policy research benefits the city by ensuring that decisions are guided by data not dollars.
Tom is a dedicated community member, a three-time local business owner and a member of the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce. A devout Catholic parishioner at St. Monica’s as well as at St. Clement’s parish, Tom has served on St. Clement’s Parish finance council since 2019 and volunteers at St. Robert’s Center (Catholic Charities). Tom’s a docent for the Santa Monica Conservancy and a longtime member of the Ocean Park Association (OPA). His diverse career spans policy analysis, technology and transportation making him uniquely qualified as your next Santa Monica City Council Member.
